Rest in Peace.

I didn't know him very personally, but through his images and his words, it felt like I knew him well.

Tim Hetherington was killed in Libya yesterday. News Article.  He was a photojournalist who was dedicated and humble.  He shot one of my favorite movies of all time, "Restrepo."

The ways he conveyed images on that film, not to sway the public either way about the war, but to show images of soldiers in combat, as real as things were, had made me more sensitive about the issue of war and peace.

I looked forward to more of his work, but it will never happen now. He will be sorely missed.
