My sister, brother and I went together to Jatujak market today. There is nothing like it in the US. All I can say is that it is a 7 days a week mega swap meet in the middle of Bangkok. It is Saturday so the crowd was more than plenty. I bought a few T shirts ($5) and 3 cacti.
Getting here and back is an adventure on its own. Though there are many ways to get here (taxi, skytrain, vans, tuk tuk) we decided to ride the bus. Buses come every few minutes and there are few hundred routes. You either have to be a local or have lived here awhile to find your way with the bus system.
It's a lucky day if you get a seat. Most buses people are standing as the big beast runs the congested streets of Bangkok.
The fare is very cheap. About 50 cents to a dollar to get across town in an air conditioned bus. The fan ones are even cheaper.
When the bus got to our destination, it's been so damn hot the entire day that we just ate dinner and collapsed for the night. Good night everyone.
